My little man Josiah turned 5 on Sunday. I know everyone says time flies. I try to cherish every moment because before you know it your little baby who kept you up all night, the teething dramas etc is now 5 years old!
It has been very fascinating watching him grow over the years. He is tender-hearted just like his mama and cheeky like his dad.
Look at my little boo boo
Here comes funny, cheeky Josiah
He’s a techie like me and loves his gadgets. He’s also creative and is proud of his creations.
His favourite TV show at the moment is PAW Patrol. Now ‘PAW Patrol’ is a Nick Jnr action-adventure cartoon series starring a pack of six heroic puppies: Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Skye, who are led by a tech-savvy 10-year-old boy named Ryder. They go on missions and save the day. And we watch it E V E R Y day!
So I decided to use that as the theme for his birthday party.
I was able to get PAW Patrol themed supplies from Ebay & Amazon.
He loves chocolate cake, so I decided to make my own PAW patrol cake. I got a personalised cake topper and decorations from Ebay. I love baking so the cake was fairly easy, my biggest challenge was the roll-out icing (first attempt) I had to watch about 5 different YouTube videos first haha. I got there in the end and was pleased with the overall results.
Josiah was super excited for his party, and after seeing all the decorations and his cake, he said I did a great job and gave me a big hug. Super proud mama.
So happy birthday to my boo boo Josiah. I wish you every blessing in life. Thank you for always asking if mummy is ok, and for rubbing my feet when I’m tired. I’m proud of you.
Here are a few photos from the day.
The kids had a great time, I was exhausted after it all and it took me 2 days to recover haha.

Hi Priti, thank you. Here’s the recipe for the chocolate cake
280g butter
280g sugar
5 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
250g self raising flour
25g cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a round 25cm (10 in) springform cake tin.
Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and stir.
In a separate bowl combine the flour, cocoa and baking powder and mix well. Stir into the egg mixture and pour into the prepared cake tin.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, until a skewer inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a cooling rack.
Happy baking! Let me know how you get on x
