Pampering Bath Salts from Westlab

One family’s mission to help manage their son’s eczema naturally became a quest to make high quality magnesium-rich salts accessible and affordable to all.

Established in 2004, Westlab have become the UK’s leading experts for pure mineral salts.

Westlab provides premium quality pure mineral salts at consistently great prices by working directly with our suppliers, coupled with a no-fuss approach to packaging.

This philosophy has resulted in a trusted loyalty to the brand, from a wide ranging customer demographic including health conscious individuals, parents, health professionals, A-list celebrities and professional athletes.

We’ve been using their products in our home for a few years now as they are highly effective and affordable.  While I was at the Love Natural Love You event back in July, I came across their stand and chatted to a lovely lady there.  They had just launched some new products so she kindly gifted me some products.

With an exceptionally calming and relaxing effect, Westlab Magnesium Flakes help relax muscles and support a restful and peaceful night’s sleep.

Bathing in magnesium flakes is also an effective way to top up your magnesium levels. 80% of us are thought to be deficient in Magnesium*, which is an important mineral, used in an amazing 300 reactions in the body, helping to induce sleep, regulate blood pressure and essential for bone health.

I know that I’m low in magnesium (most of us are) so I always have bags of magnesium flakes stocked at home.  Westlab magnesium flakes are a regular for us as I trust the quality and the prices are great.

Stress depletes our body of magnesium so having regular baths with magnesium flakes helps to relax the body – ease stress, anxiety and restore magnesium into the body as it is absorbed by the skin.

Magnesium helps to create serotonin (the body’s natural ‘feel good’ chemical), which elevates the mind making us calm and relaxed.

Whenever I can get time to myself without any interruption I always enjoy a 20 minute soak in the bath with magnesium flakes before bedtime.  At other times a 20 minute foot soak does the job.  I feel like I have a mind-shift, it leaves me very calm and relaxed which enables me to sleep better.

I regularly use the standard Epsom salts but this new one is pretty special.  I love the addition of arnica, spearmint and eucalyptus as it further boosts the therapeutic benefits, plus it smells so good.

The benefits are amazing.  Epsom salts are great for softening the skin and it gives you that at-home spa experience.  It relaxes the mind, body, reduces pain and inflammation and is a great stress-buster.  It is also detoxing and helps eliminate toxins from the body.

One thing I will say is make sure you stay hydrated, drink water before and after the bath to increase detoxification.

I also enjoy having regular foot soaks with this.  I just unwind and let my foot soak for 20 minutes.  My feet are nice and soft and it’s the perfect time to get rid of tough, dry skin and dead skin cells with a pumice stone.
