I’ve had such a busy month and it’s time to share what I received in April’s Curlee Box.
A discovery box of hair goodies for curly and kinky tresses.
Receive 4 to 6 gourmet hair products every month.
So prior to receiving the box, I had already peeped the products on Instagram and to be honest I was disappointed.
I knew straightaway I wouldn’t like or use any of the products because of the ingredients. So it’s a straight up ‘NO’ 👎🏾🙅🏾♀️
Creme of Nature Pure Honey Moisturizing Dry Defense Conditioner 12oz (RRP £5.99)

Creme of Nature Pure Honey Moisture Replenish & Strengthening Mask 11.5oz (RRP £7.49)
Replenish moisture, prevent breakage, and tame and control frizz with this Moisture Replenish & Strength Hair Mask infused with Pure Honey, Certified Natural Coconut Oil and Shea Butter.
Creme of Nature Pure Honey Knot Away Leave-In Detangler 8oz (RRP £5.99)
Infused with Pure Honey, Certified Natural Coconut Oil and Shea Butter to restore moisture and repair split ends, our Knot Away Leave-In Detangler instantly detangles and improves manageability of hair.
So I’m going to have a little rant. Creme of Nature is a brand I associate with relaxer kit systems (chemical hair straightener). Now with the declining sales of relaxers due to many choosing to go ‘natural’, I’ve seen many companies jumping on the bandwagon and staking their claim in the natural hair community.
Now I have no problem with companies choosing to market to the changing consumer needs… my only issue is them trying to lure us with their false marketing!
For instance this ‘Pure Honey’ collection is marketed as containing
CERTIFIED NATURAL INGREDIENTS
“Infused with a blend of Pure Honey, Certified Natural Coconut Oil & Shea Butter, this collection is ideal for all hair types providing the essential moisture, softness and smoothness your hair needs without weighing it down.”
Seriously! too many synthetic and nasty chemicals in the ingredient list to even try and call this natural!
I also know their Pure Honey shampoo and other styling products in the range contain parabens too.
Eco Style Gold Olive Oil & Shea Butter & Black Castor Oil & Flaxseed 8oz
Everything your hair needs, in one styling gel! EcoStyle® Gold Styling Gel brings together the greatest elements of our top products. 100% pure Olive Oil helps moisturize your scalp, while Shea Butter protects every strand of hair and Black Castor and Flaxseed Oil repair and promote hair growth. Like all of our gels, it will leave your hair weightless yet superior hold and healthy shine.
I’ve heard people rave about Eco Styler but hey another no-no for me! Not much else to say.
KeraCare Natural Textures Honey Shea Co-Wash Sample (28g)
A wonderful sulfate free cleanser-conditioner composed of a unique blend of natural ingredients including Honey, Shea Butter, Amla & Shikakai (Ayurvedic) Botanicals, Neem, Argan & Abyssinian Oils & Castor Oils. Great for gentle cleansing without stripping moisture from hair. Natural emollients and humectants, including honey and Shea Butter, help smooth, soften, enhance shine and hold in moisture which is so vital for curly hair textures. This silicone-free co-wash beautifully leaves hair prime for growth.
KeraCare® Natural Textures® Deep Moisturizing Masque Sample (28g)
A deep penetrating conditioner for dry curls & coils. Composed of a unique blend of natural ingredients including Amla & Shikakai (Ayurvedic) Botanicals, Argan & Abyssinian & Coconut Oils, Shea Butter, and Fruit Extracts.
This is a familiar brand for me. Before I went natural I used their relaxer systems. They are well known for their Affirm® Conditioning Relaxer System, FiberGuard® Conditioning Relaxer System, Ferm® permanent wave products, MoisturColor® professional hair color products. And now KeraCare® Natural Textures.
So once again due to the ingredients I gave these samples a pass.
Frankly I’m pretty gutted I couldn’t use a single product in the box. I know that subscription boxes can be ‘hit’ or ‘miss’!
And while some people might love these products, personally I’m tired of being sold ‘natural’ products only to find out they contain a host of unnatural ingredients!
I’ve been happy with my previous boxes but I sure do hope next month’s box is better..
Have you tried Curlee Box? What do you think of this month’s box?
